Makeup Do's and Don'ts

1. Never use liquid or cream eyeshadow if you want it to last more than 1 hour, it will ALWAYS break down and disappear!
2. If you apply powder eyeshadow to lids without a primer or foundation base, it also will not last all day
3. The same applies to blush, if you do not have a base, either foundation or tinted moisturizer it won't last all day.
*If you're just going out for a few hours you will probably be ok
4. If you curl your lashes ALWAYS do so prior to applying mascara
5. If you have oily skin DO NOT use an oil-based foundation or moisturizer, DO use oil free products instead

How to Apply Eyeshadow That Lasts All Day

1. Begin by applying your liquid, cream foundation or tinted moisturizer to entire face including eyelids
2. Powder entire face with pressed, translucent or blotting powder making sure to use a smaller brush to powder eyelids
*If you are not wearing foundation, you can also apply an eyeshadow primer to eyelids instead
3. Swirl your eye shadow brush in powder eyeshadow
4. Tap brush over a counter or sink to remove excess and avoid it falling onto your face
5. Dab eyeshadow onto eyelids in a pressing motion, going from outside corner to inside corner making sure to extend slightly above eyelid crease
6. Repeat step 5 several times until optimal color intensity is achieved
7. Now begin blending the color by going in small circular motions across the eyelid again from outside corner to inside
8. Finish blending by now moving the brush from outside to in as if you were drawing a rainbow or half moon slightly above the eyelid crease where eyeshadow ends
9. Continue steps 8 and 9 until color looks well blended
10. Remove excess eyeshadow around eyelids with cotton swab and from face with a dry makeup sponge
11. Voila, your eyeshadow will last all day!

WELCOME

My name is Candace Gibbs and I am actually a Physical Therapist by trade. I received a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree in 2005 from NYU and work in a NYC hospital. While in school I discovered another hidden talent and passion....makeup! So last year I decided to pursue additional entrepreneurial ventures and took classes at the Lia Schorr Institute in NYC to become a makeup artist. I am currently a full time therapist and a part-time freelance makeup artist, the best of both worlds! I believe that everyone has hidden beauty and my goal is to bring that beauty from the inside out one step at a time.
