Wedding Makeup-Bride
So remember a few months ago I did a trial for a upcoming bride that wanted an old hollywood glam look down to the birdcage veil. On her wedding day we recreated the same look from the trial but made the lips a bit more intense. She was thrilled with the final product and so was I!

Makeup Trial- Wedding Makeup
My client below is getting married next month and wanted to create a glamourous look inspired by Audrey Hepburn and Dita Von Tesse minus the red lips. Her wedding has a Hollywood glamour theme and she will be wearing a birdcage veil and carrying a feather fan. Her favorite feature was her eyes so she wanted to play them up! She NEVER wears makeup, so I wanted her to look beautiful but not overdone. The look we created was a warm smokey eye with gold and bronze tones, heavy black liner, false lashes, and peachy pink cheeks and lips.

Final Product-Party Look

So this was the finished party look for the client from last week. She was having a party to celebrate her 30th birthday and wanted to dazzle the crowd. On this day I decided to intensify the purple and gold eyeshadows and we added lashes to make her eyes sparkle. We also changed the lip color to make it a little bolder and voile!

Makeup Trial-Party Look

My client below wanted to trial a sultry look for her upcoming 30th birthday party. She doesn't usually wear any makeup so we wanted her to stand out yet not look like a drag queen! She will be wearing yellow so I decided on something with gold and purple because purple is the complimentary color of yellow. Next week we will complete her look with lashes to add a little more depth to her eyes. Remember that your eyeshadow color should compliment not match your outfit, so be mindful of colors you choose.

Modern Smokey Eye

What people don't realize is that a "smokey"eye does not have to be completely black. In fact it usually looks better when the inside of your eye is highlighted with a much brighter color. In this picture below I decided on a bright metallic gold to highlight her chestnut brown eyes. To further highlight her eye, I used a gold pencil to outline the bottom corner of her eyelid. The look is topped off with a raspberry/cranberry colored blush, which looks better on darker skin and a bronze/cranberry lip!

Makeup Do's and Don'ts

1. Never use liquid or cream eyeshadow if you want it to last more than 1 hour, it will ALWAYS break down and disappear!
2. If you apply powder eyeshadow to lids without a primer or foundation base, it also will not last all day
3. The same applies to blush, if you do not have a base, either foundation or tinted moisturizer it won't last all day.
*If you're just going out for a few hours you will probably be ok
4. If you curl your lashes ALWAYS do so prior to applying mascara
5. If you have oily skin DO NOT use an oil-based foundation or moisturizer, DO use oil free products instead
